The Caddie Program has been around for over 50 years and the underlying purpose has remained the same: To give older Girl Scouts an opportunity to develop valuable leadership skills by training and then volunteering at volunteer-led day camps throughout our Council and at other events such as Service Unit Encampments. Caddie Training teaches outdoor skills, outdoor cooking, tent care, songs and games and communication skills. Most importantly girls have FUN and develop solid leadership skills.
The recommended pre-requisite for all Caddie experiences is "Program Aide Training." This is for girls in 6th-12th grade. Girls only need to take this training once. Training is available through through a Council self-directed kit. Junior Caddie -- Girls that are in 6th grade and above. Program Aide Training is recommended.
